As a marketer, I am giving this to my dear friends out there.
Here is a list (not in any order) of some online shopping web sites that I know of, that are trying, in basic logic, to get their fair share of the market from the limited online consumer base in the Maldives. Most of these web sites feature similar products and applies somewhat same approach to the field.

I hope this is not an understatement, but most of these web sites, when explored, appear like start-up businesses, mostly with limited capital or budgetary support. Yet, I trust that each of these web sites will have some patrons, followers or consumers. And I believe that all these web sites have one common goal, which is; to make money.
What if? “All these web sites or entrepreneurs agree and come to one platform? I think it will multiply your patrons, followers or consumers or it will create a more convenient environment for your patrons, followers or consumers”.
Similarly, if all these web sites or entrepreneurs come to one platform, with a common understanding, your purpose and its effect will be much stronger. In such a platform your voice will be heard as a group, instead of individuals approaching various companies for product classification, presentation or advertisement contributions.
If all of you take such a common approach to this segment of the market, that will multiply the effect and thereby increase the speed of your return on investment and thus multiply your profit. The principle here is if you want to make money, you might as well want to multiply and increase your profit.
By the way, www.mihiree.com is still available (as I post this) – the only thing missing is a Leader!

i agree with you nabeel, almost all of them have the same approach to the online market. but i guess some of them are doing really good and are far a head in the list if you compare the no of visitors, or trades.

Thank you Nabeel for your excellent article. I strongly agree with your statement,it will certainly multiply users and leads to everyone’s success. But, commitment and continuous improvement should not be stopped. Everyone should keep on contributing and success should NOT be regarded as a destination, should be a journey. Now, the topic is heading to business ethics… So, let me pull some quick facts about ebuy.mv,
1. It is the fastest Maldivian website. Which other site you know is faster than ebuy? (I’d would like to findout if there is any)
2. ebuy has better features than any other online market in Maldives. If you or anyone thinks not, pls make a comparison, it would be helpful for me.
3. It is getting continuously improved. Regular visitors might have noticed several upgrades in past couple of month.
4. ebuy shares success with its users; an iPhone 3G is on lucky draw in which every user who signs up get enrolled automatically.

Hi, nice article. i strongly agree with your point that most maldivian online shops are poorly budgeted. how ever ive heard of a new maldivian online shop called GOBUYMV.com. the site is really cool nd user friendly.
