ITB Asia in Singapore

nabeel-mesmerized-blogcut.JPGI know this is long over due but I have been overwhelmed, like all of you, by the recent events that changed the present and possibly will change the future of our lives. With all this heppening around us, I had an opportunity to attend the inaugural ITB Asia travel show in Singapore organized by Messe Berlin in conjunction with the Singapore Tourism Board.

The 10,600 square meters of Suntec Centre was packed with buyers, trade visitors and representatives from around 90 countries. Although not spacious the B2B format of the show was a success for me and others who attended to meet with existing partners and meet potential buyers.

Other than business meetings, some good opportunities were created to update and refresh the various representatives that had time to attend educational seminars. I happened to meet with some people I know so I got a chance to attend the Web in Travel Event organized in association with PhoCusWright Inc. I also sneaked into the Cornell seminar on Negotiation Skills for the Hospitality Industry.

All in all the show was a good place to meet with buyers, suppliers, press and industry experts among many others. I think ITB Asia is a good platform for small and medium businesses to meet with partners for last quarter review and future planning.

Next week I will be in London attending World Travel Market – I will share my views when I am back. Until then keep reading my blog.
